Copenhagen Denmark

The start of our long awaited 2 week spring break was in the beautiful, but very expensive capital of Copenhagen, Denmark.

Our travel gang (Sarah, Em, me, Masa, and Peter) starting off on the colorful canal in Nyhavn.

Wife fo' Life!

Men of Tuborg beer.

I expected to see vikings, but I guess the pirates scared them off.

Peter making out with the Christmas bear/rabbit from the trash can.

Tearing it up in the club....
Peter, the camera is over here buddy!

No dance club is complete with out the disco ball and pole.

Another day another beautiful canal.

A curious park near a curious place.

Love this wall.

The famous knuckled feathered belly bird.

Masa thinking happy thoughts so he can fly.

Walking around starfish island.

A somewhat overrated little mermaid.

I don't think this was the first time Peter has been tea-bagged.

I swear the ladies in their 50's and 60's in Europe all have the craziest doo's.

Awww

Drink stop.

Cruising into town on our electric powered bikes.

Pete, whatcha got runnin' under there, 'bout 400 hp?

Top of a tower in town.

We found this great spot in a park to relax and ....wait a minute did you see that guy in the forest...?

...And so it was that a great battle between good and evil unfolded right in front our our eyes. Orcs, trolls, and goblins poured from the thick forest to try and defeat, once and for all, the noble humans that have fought for their existence since the beginning of time. The epic battle lasted for a three glorious hours as we sat in pure entertainment, plus however long after we left.

Name: Borg Ingmar

Profession: Software sales manager

Hobbies: Playing real life Dungeon and Dragons on a Sunday afternoon.

Our battle look out point.

Leaving Copenhagen and it's unique architecture for Amsterdam and then Ireland.

Grindelwald Switzerland

Off to the Jungfrau region of Switzerland for the weekend.

Scenic stop at Lake Luzern

View from our hotel room in Grindelwald.

Turned out that this was the last ski day of the year in Grindelwald so there was a party at the top of the gondola.

The Wetterhorn, Monch, and Eiger.

Not the best skiing at the bottom.

Party at the top with the splash pool for those who dare try to ski across.

80's rewind

Not sure if this is anatomically correct.

Goodmorning Eiger.

Relaxing at Interlaken

Post bike ride snooze.

Spring!

Ivrea Italy

The weekend after I got back from Spain was the biggest weekend for Carnivale, so Em and I headed to Torino for a night and then to Ivrea where craziness was about to take place.

Background: Every year during Carnivale the town of Ivrea rein acts the overthrowing of the king due to his inhumanities towards the people. These days instead of throwing rocks at the kings soldiers they throw the oranges left over from the fall harvest, about 50,000 of them.

One of the many entertaining things around town.

Ivrea is nestled against the towering Alps in the background.

Royal Parade

The Ammunition.
Pre-battle meal = cigarette and Red Bull.

Exploring Ivrea

One of the 5 piazza's where it all goes down.

Apparently putting orange juice in your eyes before the battle is good preparation.

This was one of the 20 horse-drawn carriages that went through the piazza. All in all it was an hour

So if you don't want to be targeted by these guys you wear a red hat.

If you really don't want to get hit by oranges then you hide behind the net.

Fact 1: Oranges are about the same size as baseballs.

Fact 2: Europeans don't play baseball.

Fact 3: Europeans can't throw oranges very well.

I guess the helmet is necessary.

IN THE FACE!

The craziest guy out there was the horse driver with no helmet.

Orange Julius anyone?

Sweet victory.

Post battle celebrations.

The sea of red as we leave Ivrea.
