Verona Italy

I was asked to be a chaperon on the 6th grade spring academic travel to Verona Italy with Emily. I would of done it for free, but the offered to pay me...so sure why not?

The second largest Colosseum in Italy.

Sixth graders doing what they do.

In fair Verona where we lay our scene.

The sky is the limit.

Or maybe it's their vertical jumping ability.

Our sideshow Bob tour guide.

On our way to the Napoleon museum.

The building on the hill has a roof made of grass so it couldn't be seen by planes during WWII. I guess it worked.

Gelato on Lake Garda.

Moments after Hugo asked if we could go fast on our speed boat tour.

Mrs. Abell's class.

Just another castle. But still impressive.

Rome Italy

We met Mom and Phil in Rome after they headed to Cinque Terra for a few days.

On the Spanish steps...

Why is it that everywhere you go there are places named after other places.

Childhood gelato bliss.

Adulthood gelato bliss...in front of the Pantheon

Another important looking building....smile!

If this was coming out of my robe I would be perplexed as well.

The Forum

Romulus and Remus crying wolf.

Colosseum excitement.

Friends, Romans, countrymen lend me a lighter.

Inside the belly of the beast. While yelling "Are you not entertained?"

They were entertained

See if you can see what's inside the pot

Meow!

The golden ceiling of the Vatican Museum.

St. Peter's Basilica

St Peter's Square

Via Ferrata Climb

Phil and I decided to climb the Via Ferrata (way of the cable) route on the nearby San Salvatore Peak. It being a cable route, I assumed it was going to be an exposed hike. I was wrong.

The warning sign.

As you can see it was completely vertical climbing.

The old up the pant leg shot...your welcome!

About half way up.

After 500 ft of vertical climbing we made it to the top.

The city of Lugano and Lago di Lugano.

Shortcut down using the Funiculare.

Where's the camera man?

This guy made quick work of us, as we enjoyed our lunch.

Too many good places to take pictures, especially with models like this.

Check out the guy in the background rubbing his lady's belly.

Oh, the gelato is good too.

Cruising around Venice.

Find the flying lion in St. Mark's square, the symbol of the Venetian Republic.

The next day it rained.

So it made for a good cafe day.

On our way out.
