Sunday Bike Ride

This Sunday was far too beautiful to be indoors so Emily and I went for a bike ride to the small town of Agra that is 15 minutes up the road from her apartment. The ride up definitely burned the legs, but that was a small price to pay for the quiet little village that awaited.
This picture shows Emily's place which is on the ground level of the pink house to the left of the palm trees. That should give you an idea of the view she has.

We ended up riding/walking a very technical mountain bike trail that opened up to great views of Lake Lugano and the surrounding towns. All in all it was a great Sunday on the bikes.

After some exploring we found a trail that had an entire circuit of agility stations along the way. I think I might start training for the rings for the next olympics. I still have a little ways to go for the Iron Cross manuever (watch out China!).

Peddling through the town of Agra.

The picture below is my dream porch overlooking Lugano in the distance. I really hope I don't start to take this scenery for granted because it continues to place me in awe.
We stopped in una chiesa piccola (a small church) that was built in 1609.

Cinque Terra

This is the village of Vernazza where we took a swim inside the bay.

The the crystal clear waters of Monterosso.

Emily and I just hopped the train down to Cinque Terra for the weekend to meet up with my bro and Amanda. Um what can I say........WOW!

Arriving in Lugano

So the scenery here is just about as picturesque as you can imagine. The mountains are lush with vegetation and come jutting out of the huge lake that winds through the valley. This is a place where once you've enjoyed bombing down the winding roads on a bike you definitely pay the price to get back up.
