Nam Noen Laos

Next stop was a very small village called Nam Noen. The adventure was getting there.
Red sunset.

After some really loud grinding noises we slammed to a halt to find that our breaks were gone.

So we jumped in the back of a passing truck and sat on bags of rice for another hour and a half. At least this one had brakes.

Nam Noen from the bridge.

Hydro-electricity in its simplest form.

Strolling through town.

The little boy trying his MJ moves.

Drying rice noddles.

Putting on a magic show while waiting 4 hours for the bus. The pressure increased when four or five men gathered around.

The little one on the left cracks me up.

It is hard to tell but we are actually driving on the right side of the road.

Leaving the beautiful mountains of northern Laos.

Another bus, another problem.
Blown out tire. We also noticed that the "good tire" had chunks of tread coming off of it????

The slightly worn flat tire.

The look of when you oversleep on the bus and they pass your stop by three hours. We slept in the Vientiane bus station from 4-7 am and then caught a local bus three hours back up to Vang Vien.

Slowly getting there.
