This weekend Emily and I headed to the City of Lights, PARIS!

We caught the B line into town from the airport

After dropping off our luggage at the hotel, we headed to the nearby Sacre Coeur for our first stop of the day.

Here we are enjoying our delicious crepes at the Sacre Coeur

The pigeons were so brave that even after I kicked them they immediately came back to peck my shoelaces.

Overlooking Paris from Sacre Coeur.

This guy was working a con with these two other ladies. He made it obvious to see which one had the white spot under it and the ladies (acting like they were just passing by) bet money and "won." When the tourist walked by and saw how easy it was, they would throw their money down then be distracted and one of the ladies would switch the white spot around...money gone. Good entertainment!

St. Germain L'auxerrois

Pont Nuef: The oldest bridge in Paris built in the 1500's

On the Pont Nuef overlooking the Seine river.

Notre Dame Cathedral

Inside Notre Dame, the biggest Cathedral I have ever seen.

Hotel-de-Ville. Every turn we took there was another enormous building or church that would be any other cities highlight, but here it is . . . just another building it seems.

So we were sitting at a cafe having a drink when I caught this interesting site. Apparently rollerblades are the best way to chase down theives of the night.

The emo style of the european youth.

Em couldn't resist the opportunity

I was just getting the ones way up there.

Playing around with some camera settings.

Don't worry; I fit in like a glove over here with the scarf. I had people swarming me, speaking french and offering me cigarettes and espresso the moment I put it on.

Outside the entrance to the Louvre Museum.

Day 2: Tour de Lourve

This is a colossal palace that has been standing for over eight centuries and was used as a storehouse for weapons, prison and royal residence; it is now a museum for hoards of art, each worth fortunes.

Venus de Milo

It is good to see that I'm not the only one that wants to strangle that insurance duck.

Apparently lower back hair was a fashion statement thousands of years ago.

The sculptures and art inside the Louvre were just as impressive as the actual building they were in.

Looking up the main staircase of the Louvre at the statue of the Victory of Samothrace found in the Greek islands.

A plug for my friends t-shirt company Conk Wear. Get your t-shirts at CONKWEAR.COM. Hey Travis this blog reaches millions of people so I expect a full line of shirts when I get back.

Out of all the sculptures, this one was definitely my favorite of Hercules stoning a serpent.

After three hours in the Louvre we were ready to relax. Did I mention Conk Wear?

I couldn't help but feel for this guy. I would be depressed too if I sat on a pointy stump naked while birds shit on my head all day.

Relaxing at the Jardin des Tuileries

After walking up the famous Champs Elysees road we came to the Arc de Triomphe. This huge arch was ordered by Napolean in 1806 to honor the Grande Armee who had conquered most of Europe and was thought to be invicible. The picture does not do it justice for its size, but if you look hard enough you can see the small specs of people on the top.

I guess this is some big cell phone tower???

A view from the tinted window on the first level of the Eiffel Tower.

A view from the second level of the Tower with the Champ de Mars in the background.

Right after the Tower light up.

Taking the stairs back down.

Champ de Mars with a slow shutter speed.

Em taking pictures of the 7 o'clock twinkling tower from the Pont de L'alma bridge (our bridge) over the Seine river.

So romantic..........

Add ImageMoments after I asked Emily to marry me!!!!

SHE SAID YES!!

The ring.

The celebration.

The flight home over the Alps.
